MCM Scotland ComicCon – it’s a wrap!

Hi guys, Dave here with a post-MCM Scotland ComicCon update. I’m literally on the train home to Edinburgh after an amazing two days at the SECC. Where to begin? Well, I met so many fans there who asked when Issue #2 is coming out and we’re aiming for the start of next year. It’ll be way earlier than the first one, so stay tuned for man more updates as they come. It was craaaaaazy busy! Secondly, I want to thank everyone who took time to visit our stall in Comic Village and checked out Bust for the very first...

Our table at MCM Scotland / Variant cover update + more!

Hi guys, and happy Monday to you all. Dave here with another Kickstarter update. First, I was selling copies of Bust: Issue #1 at the Glasgow Comic and Toy Fair at the Queen Margaret University in – where else? – Glasgow. I sold a few copies and got some great feedback on all the work Chris and I have been doing. Also, Al Reid AKA Haywire Visions popped by our table to hand deliver the first test copy of his Bust #2 art print. This little number will be given to all Kickstarter backers who pledge £10 or above. What do you think? I got it signed, obvs! 😀 Next up, there’s the little matter of a comic event happening this weekend in Glasgow. You might have heard of it? Yeah OK, so this is a pretty big deal and oh man are we excited to be selling Bust there. We really can’t wait to meet comic fans and talk to them about our series face to face, it’s always such a genuine pleasure If you’re around, I’ll be signing and selling copies of Bust at a table alongside the wonderful Dave McCluskey AKA Dammaged Comics. We’re in Comic Village, table CC10. Stop by say hello, get something signed and let’s chat! Also, here’s a rough of Bust 2: Wasteland Ronin’s second page. It’s taking a while as it’s...

Evolution of a cover: a chat with Bust artist Craig Paton

Happy Wednesday folks (are Wednesdays ever really happy?!). Dave here with an update all about the cover for Bust 2: Wasteland Ronin. You might have seen on our Kickstarter campaign page that we’re funding towards our second stretch goal, which is to get Scottish artist Craig Paton back to do cover art for the issue. Who’s Craig Paton? Well, he’s an incredibly talented artist for hire who deserves all your money. No really, just check out his great portfolio of work over at his personal site. He’s also responsible for our first issue’s incredible cover: We hope you’ll agree it looks bloody brilliant! If our Kickstarter funding manages to hit £1,800, we’ll be able to get Craig back to create a cover for Bust 2: Wasteland Ronin. He’s already started some early concepts including our new character Lily and an older Jack, just in case we hit our goal: It’s still just a concept at this stage – what do you think? I thought I’d give Craig a chance to talk you through his process for creating the cover for Bust: Issue #1 and show you some early concepts and designs so you can see how he got to the final cover art. Here we go: Craig: “I wanted to create some cover art which would reflect the gritty, monochromatic violence of Bust’s story.  The scene where Jack is fighting...
