Bust: Now stocked in Scottish comic stores!

Hello Kickstarter backers and comic fans alike! Dave here with a long overdue update. It’s been a while since we last filled everyone in – mostly because we’ve been working on the Kickstarter campaign for Bust #2: Wasteland Ronin, and fine-tuning the explosive script. More on this very soon! But we’ve also got some exciting updates for you in the meantime I had a great time selling Bust: Issue #1 at the Big Glasgow Comic Fair on July 18, where we managed to sell 64 copies, so thank you to everyone who picked up a copy! I shared table with Dave Lumsden behind the brilliant Boat: Issue #1. (That’s him on the left of this image) His concept started life as an award-winning movie before being adapted into a dark comic that shares a lot in common with Bust. It’s a story like The Road, that sees a man and his son trying to survive a flooded, apocalyptic Scotland. I highly recommend checking it out here, even for it’s amazing twist alone! But that’s not all. The owner of Paisley-based indie shop Comicrazy swung by our table and bought a batch of Bust: Issue #1 for his store, so you can now pop in and buy a copy. Show them some love and check out their cool stock here. Wait, there’s more? We’re also now stocked in the wicked, and...

Glasgow Comic Con was amazing!

So, the dust has settled on Glasgow ComicCon and after two days of selling I managed to sell 78 copies of our first issue, which we’re told is really good for a first convention. We’re just so happy that people now have a chance to read the first part of our story in its entirety. We met a lot of great comic writers and artists over the weekend, and received an overwhelming amount of praise and advice from other relative newcomers and veterans of the industry. Needless to say, if you’re a comic n00b, cons are the place to...

Bust: Issue 1 – two new comic reviews!

Hello again Bust friends, fans and Kickstarter backers! This is update #2 for today, and this time we’re talking about reviews – two new reviews to be exact! The first is from the great Pop Culture Cafe podcast, whose unscored review said, “There are some really, really good ideas in this book… Good story, good ideas, good artwork. More of this please!” Their review had some superb insight into the story and brilliant advice for how Chris and I might progress in issue #2: Wasteland Ronin and beyond. We’ve got plenty of world-building incoming, so we’re positive everyone who picks up our second issue will enjoy that 😀 Thanks again guys, we can’t thank you enough for checking out our issue! You can listen to the review here (it’s at the start of the episode). Follow them on Twitter at @TPCCafe Next up, we’ve got a great review from the Big Kid’s Playground podcast, in which the team said, “Everything about it is good… a very, very good start!” We’re really happy with this review, and the guys have been mega-supportive of us as first-time comic creators. It’s support like this that helps us keep doing what we love, so thanks again You can listen to the episode here (we’re the last review of the episode). Follow them on Twitter at @BKPlayground Thank you so, so much guys, this means  lot to...
